About Me

Jen Walter

My name is Jen Walter and I’m currently working full time at T-Mobile as a Senior Product Design Manager.  Worked for Microsoft Research for a few years prior to joining T-Mobile – working on new innovations.

Innovation from the cube

I am the founder of Creative Fusion Pro, a collective of creative professionals who are working to try and change the creative industry for the better, and I also run my own graphics and marketing firm, JW Design Center.  I’ve been in the industry now for about 9 years, longer if you count my experience in Marketing (yes I know – I was one of THEM).  Innovation, Strategy, Design and business are my passion.  I come at things from a business background rather than just going about making things look pretty.

My main skill set is interaction design, and understanding how people interact with something, be it a device or a piece of software.  I’m also a concept designer working on new technologies that our kids will use in the future.  I look forward to getting to know you all and sharing my experiences and thoughts along the way.

Oh yea and PS… feel free to comment, otherwise i feel a bit like I’m talking to myself 🙂

I can also be found on Deviant Art should you decide to look me up http://jwdesigncenter.deviantart.com/

I also am a judge for the Web Awards http://www.webaward.org/

    Hi SeattleGraphix,
Thanks for your comment on my blog! (http://nataliebahadur.wordpress.com/) I’m new to the world of blogging, so I’m still figuring out how things work. I really like your blog and have added it to my blogroll. Hope you continue to check out some of my favourite things!

Thanks for stopping by Write On and More! I started the blog for the new business – not realizing how fun (and therapeutic) it would be for me. I too have young children and am trying to balance it all!

    Happy Spring

So glad that you took the time to comment on my blog so I could, in turn, find yours!

I blog for catharsis, information for my family and friends, and because I’m terminally curious about all sorts of things. I like talking to other parents who are in the same boat: creative, busy, working or otherwise, but completely crazed with the interesting things this world offers.

I’m looking forward to reading much more of your writing!

Hey Jen. AGD lead me to your blog. Not too sure if compliments are the expectation in the blog world, but I too have enjoyed your posts. Particularly your employers letter to company staff. Keep it coming.

BTW thanks very much for the critiques on AGD as well.

Hey Jen – Your site and blogs are really cool. It sounds like you are very busy, with “stage 2” motherhood and two-ish jobs! Anyway, I’m sure you are mastering all of it.

Really enjoyed your blog…you seem accomplished and creative and that’s inspiring!! I was thinking about going back to finish my interior design degree, but not sure what I’d do with it exactly in this market? (Show set design? Freelance architecture illustrator)? I’ve had my own business (in Seattle also) designing fashion accessories for 12 years, now I’m having my first baby! I loved the letter from your boss regarding the (economic) environment we now live in… that is EXACTLY how I feel. (Building a company, hiring agents, owning property). I really related with it!!! Keep the comments coming!

Thank you so much! And congrats on the new baby. I just had a son 3 months ago, so I can relate. 🙂
